Offices under the Office of the Resident Commissioner, Meghalaya House

Office of the PWD (Building) Meghalaya House Sub Division - PWD(Building) Meghalaya House Sub Division was created in the year 1982 for Construction/Expansion and maintenance of the Meghalaya Houses at 9, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi and at 9&10, Russel Street, Kolkata. Its functions are as below:

1. Liaising with MORTH in connection with National Highways, Border Roads, and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
2. Liaising with the local bodies like DDA, NDMC, L&DO, and other Delhi Government Departments.
3. Liaising with local bodies in New Delhi in connection with Meghalaya House at New Delhi.

Tourist Information Centre: Tourist Information Center (TIC) located in Delhi is a branch office of Directorate of Tourism, Government of Meghalaya, Shillongand attached to the office of the Resident Commissioner, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road, Meghalaya House, New Delhi.

Role/functions/activities of Tourist Information Centre: This centre is a main information centre relevant toMeghalaya tourism, providing detail information on tourism with pamphlets, literatures, brochures, maps to the visitors of domestic and international tourists pertaining to attraction of tourist destination, interest of tourist places, ecotourism, adventures, tour packages, travel agents, transportations, cultures, major fairs and festivals, hotel accommodation etc.

Tourist Information Centre is responsible to encourage, promote, and develop tourism as a major socio-economic activity to generate investment and employment. It helpsin spreading the benefits of tourism in Meghalaya to both the private and public sector. This office coordinates with Ministries, attend meetings held by Ministry of Tourism, award functions, participates in tourism exhibition fairs and events etc.  This office also coordinates with Travel Agents, Hoteliers to enhance public awareness of tourism and promotes the tourism industry in inbound and outbound as well.

Tourism Exhibition Fairs and Events: This office represents State Tourism to promote the tourism industry by participating in various Major Tourism Exhibition Fairs and Events which was organised by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in Delhi and NCR.  The Major Tourism Exhibition Fairs and Events are as under:

 Office of the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA)

Meghalaya Basin Development Authority established a branch office based out of Delhi for the purpose of coordination and liaising with both Central Government and other Organizations (Domestic & International). It supports the State Government through follow up with several Ministries on Externally aided Projects, Schemes, Projects, etc.
