Functions of the Office of the Resident Commissioner, Meghalaya House
The Resident Commissioner, Meghalaya House, Delhi acts as a representative/Ambassador of the State of Meghalaya at the National capital of Delhi.
The Office of the Resident Commissioner, Meghalaya House, Delhi has a variety of roles and duties such as, but not limited to the following:-
- Representing the State Government in meetings at Delhi.
- To liaise with Central Government, other State Government to promote cooperation and investments in the interest of the state, as well as for international cooperation.
- To coordinate with potential investors including the GOI Officials and International agencies (bilateral and multilateral).
- Management of both the State Guest Houses & Protocol.
- Promotes the local talents, local products, tourism and the culture & traditions of Meghalaya.
- To facilitate and support the state Government to obtain information on issues concerning the State.
- To coordinate with the central Government on various issues for e.g., Disaster Management, Home Affairs, Schemes etc.
- To assist and redress the problems faced by the residents of Meghalaya residing in Delhi.
- Conduct programmes for the Students from the state under the Chief Minister’s career guidance programme.
- Attestation of documents and certificates of students passing out from the State of Meghalaya on fulfilling the required conditions.
